We commonly hear that one of the reasons patients are apprehensive about starting Chiropractic care, is because they are unfamiliar of what to expect. In today’s blog, we try to explain what to expect in our office.
At Complete Chiropractic & Wellness Center we make getting scheduled easy by either calling us at 402.309.3814 or you can utilize our website contact us function. From there, our paper work is easily accessible on our website by the way of the red buttons at the top and bottom of the home page; however these forms cannot be filled out by using your cell phone.
Your First Visit
If you were unable to fill out the forms online, coming about 10 minutes before your appointment should allow for enough time to complete them prior to starting your appointment. When all forms are filled out, Dr. Field will thoroughly go over them with you and ask if any further information is necessary. This also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions or comment further on any of your health history.
A chiropractic examination will then be completed which may include: neurological testing, muscle testing, range of motion assessment, and other spinal examinations which will allow for a proper diagnosis and determination of treatment. Dr. Field will explain any positive or negative findings to ensure you are educated on what is causing your symptoms and how chiropractic care may help with your concerns. X-rays are not commonly obtained in our office; however if findings in your examination prompt the necessity of such examination, Dr. Field will discussed our imaging center.
A course of treatment that is tailored to your condition will then be discussed and any questions that you may have answered. The first treatment will be administered on your first visit and may include: chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release, muscle stretching, electrical therapies, or a combination of approaches. Patients should expect their first visit to last 45-60 minutes.
As discussed on your initial visit, follow-up visits are necessary to fully resolve the concerns that you discussed with Dr. Field on your first visit. The first phase of care is to resolve the pain portion of your complaint that prompted your visit to our office; however strengthening and stabilizing the complaint to prevent relapse or flare up scenarios is a necessary portion of your care. As treatments progress, Dr. Field will discuss helpful home exercises or stretches that will further aid in your care. Patients should expect follow-up visits to last about 15 minutes.
We hope that this has helped clear up some of the questions about starting Chiropractic therapy and specifically beginning in our office. When you are ready or if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 402.309.3814 or using the contact us function, we look forward to meeting you!
