Whiplash //

What is it?

​

  • Although the most common cause is car accidents, whip lash can also occur as a result of falls or sport injuries.  The neck region is very vulnerable to changes in direction (jerking or whipping motions).  In a whiplash injury, the muscles and ligaments in the neck become stretched, at times beyond their normal range of motion.  Essentially a whiplash injury is a combination of a muscle strain and ligament sprain.

What are the Symptoms?

​

  • Stiffness in the neck, sharp pain with certain movements, dull-ache pain in the neck globally.
